About My Clients

I have a particular passion for working with survivors of childhood abuse, domestic, and sexual violence. I am also well versed in and absolutely love working with the LGBTQIA, BIPOC, and Kink/Poly communities. What I love about working with survivors is fiercely holding hope while delicately encouraging the sparks of change at a time that can be so dark.

My Background and Approach

Relational hurts require relational healing. It's not always feasible to "put the past in the past." These hurts play out over and over again until we can find a way to properly release them. Whether you are carrying hurt from your family of origin, partnerships, friendships, community, society, or your ancestors - I can help. As a relational trauma therapist, my work integrates attachment-oriented, culturally responsive, trauma therapy. I utilize DEEP (Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy), Somatic Experiencing, and Sex Therapy to work with individuals and couples to disentangle themselves from prior relational wounds and cultivate a life they want to lead. My goal is to create a space for you to explore and unearth your own solutions for overcoming this. Let's put trauma in its place so you can move forward in your life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Coming to this work as someone who has experienced poverty, gender-based violence (and a more empowered reclamation of my gender), a multicultural identity, fluid sexuality and ambiguous spiritual leanings -- my eyes are wide open to systemic and cultural oppression. I am also very mindful that we all have our own unique feelings, beliefs and relationships to our identities. I don't take any of this for granted and seek to continually expand my own awareness of intersections between oppression and identity. My work is also not confined to the therapy office - I am passionate about contributing to a more just society so that all people can be free from oppression. I believe there are many ways to support social justice efforts -- from marches and political action to consciousness-raising art and challenging conversations with loved ones. I am also an avid supporter of sustainability and actions to protect the environment -- to me, this is an extension of social justice work.
