— Jordan Ries, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pittsburgh, PA

From my first psychology class to the writing of my dissertation, I have been passionate about women's issues and how all people are impacted by gender roles. My approach deconstructs, evaluates, and explores what gender identity is, what it means to you, and how it might impact your life. Using integrative, depth-oriented approaches, we will work together to understand your struggles through a different lens and explore how to live in the most authentic way possible.

— Alese Bennett, Post-Doctoral Fellow

My approach is built on a foundation of feminist, anti-oppression values. I believe therapy is ineffective if the greater social context a person lives in is not examined critically; most of the time, doing so is empowering for all genders.

If you have a uterus, you know how much it can affect your day to day life. From my experiences of endometriosis and ovarian cysts, I know about chronic pain and the mental health effects of the menstrual cycle. As if internal physical concerns weren't enough, being socialized as a girl or woman may have taught you to put others needs (and wants!) before your own, have permeable boundaries, or that you can rest when all the work is done. Let's unpack this and take down the patriarchy!

— Sidrah Khan, Licensed Professional Counselor in Austin, TX

No one can be strong and confidant in every area life all of the time, therapy is a safe place to bring the fears, worries, dreams and desires that you can’t always share with your partners, family or employees. Since adolescence, I have been a student of archetype, mythology and spirituality as it relates to our lived experiences. Menopause, aging and identity is another focus area of my specialized support and I am in an ongoing exploration of cronehood in our culture. I work with women and young adults in college or early in their career who are experiencing panic, social anxiety, ADHD/attention problems, stress, and job burnout. Most young adults who come to work with me are used to doing it all (and doing it well) on their own. While each woman’s story is her own, it’s helpful to remember that she doesn’t have to go at it alone. That’s why I provide tailor made therapy for women to support the unique struggles common to many women's experiences.

— Dr. Kristin Edwards, Psychologist in Tampa, FL

I am proud to be a feminist and anti-patriarchal. It would be an honor to help you, my fellow woman, hold, process, and integrate the ways that power imbalances have impacted you over your lifetime. A core aspect of feminist therapy is power-analysis, or the consideration of how differences in power and privilege between genders or various social or demographic groups can affect feelings of self-worth, mental health symptoms, routine behaviors, and life choices.

— Danika Grundemann, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

I primarily work with women-identified adults who have experienced trauma. I use holistic, somatic methods to help women: - validate and express emotions including anger - cultivate inner strength, intuition, trust and creativity - connect to sensual pleasure and empowered sexuality - develop more satisfying relationships on your own terms - navigate patriarchy and gender oppression I especially love working with queer/bi women seeking to explore their sexuality and gender expression.
