About My Clients

My ideal client is anyone who is ready to take a step forward and work on their mental health. I don't care about any other aspect of you as long as you are willing to have the rough conversations that are necessary for delving deeper into yourself. I am willing to work with any age, gender, nationality, etc. imaginable and hold no preference for working with any particular denomination versus another.

My Background and Approach

My specialty involves a mixture of Peron Centered Therapy (~50%), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(~15%), and Existential Therapy(~35%). I include a percentage because this is the way I feel that most of our sessions will go. My preferred method of therapy involves speaking to you in a way that the conversation becomes therapeutic. Often times when therapists give you "tools" to use, they are usually bandaids that, while helpful, do not solve the underlying issue. For some people this is perfectly fine. In fact, if that's what I believe you need then I won't hesitate to provide you some. In other situations, these tools may be temporary lifelines to provide you comfort while also working on further issues. In most cases, I believe that talking through an experience, trauma, or other event can provide insight that will provide relief beyond what breathing exercises or grounding activities can provide.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I got into the mental health field because I believe the human brain is the most advanced and powerful processing tool on the planet. Simultaneously, I know first-hand how destructive and painful it can be as well. Through my seven years of education in learning about human behavior, its patterns, and the brain itself, I can confidently say that I believe in its ability to change itself. While there are certainly limitations to that belief (for example, someone can't just believe they no longer have autism and suddenly they're fine), there is a powerful term called "brain plasticity" which refers to the ability of the brain to recreate itself in a meaningful way. I enjoy harnessing that power for positive change and working with clients to enjoy some of those benefits. I also believe in the shared experience of human-kind. I've lived all over the world and have learned that people, while uniquely different, are all much more similar than we truly know.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
