About My Clients
I work best with people who are overwhelmed with life's challenges, don't know where to turn or what to do next, but are searching for answers and are willing to put in the work to find them. My areas of expertise include: anxiety & depression, relationship issues, family of origin issues, PTSD, co- dependency, childhood trauma and abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, post-abortion recovery, and Christian Counseling.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me is conducted within a safe, judgment-free space, where I provide opportunities for you to face challenges and express difficult feelings. Ultimately, my desire is to help you reach a place of freedom and peace of mind. I use CBT, DBT, Narrative, Solution Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is especially effective for people who have difficulty managing and regulating their emotions. Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is a treatment for trauma-spectrum disorders in survivors of multiple and complex trauma. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns. Interpersonal Relationships focuses on any and all relationships in the client's life (past and present) that is a source of tension and distress. Christian Counseling can incorporate impartation of biblical wisdom, recommendations for the development of affirming spiritual disciplines, and prayer.
