About My Clients
You want to find a therapist who is well versed in being sex positive, kink friendly, non-monogamous allied, and chronic illness informed. These unique dynamics require assistance from someone who is passionate about them! You may need help with your poly-relationships, your relationship structure, or just someone to talk to who will not wince when your sex life is brought up. You may be struggling with a recent diagnosis of a chronic illness and want to talk with someone with lived experience!
My Background and Approach
I strive to be sex-positive and affirming for people of all races, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I use a collaborative and person-centered approach with clients to encourage self-autonomy. I pride myself on my strong empathetic response in the therapeutic relationship while focusing on clients’ strengths. I teach a number of appropriate coping skills to help you through the anxiety, depression, fear, and excitement life can bring, especially in a sex-positive, kink and poly friendly arena. Being a “spoonie” myself, I have a passion for helping others cope with the uncertainty of chronic illnesses. I am direct and open and will "call you on your shit" so we can work through it collaboratively!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person, at least at some time in their lives, should go to therapy. We all have coping strategies that have been harmful instead of helpful in our lives. You may hear me talk about your "grand therapist" aka MY therapist from time to time (because yes, therapists need therapy too)! That just means I am making myself better so that I can better help you through your trials and tribulations. I am a member of the LGBTQIA community, solidly in the kink community in the triangle, and also live an ethically non-monogamous life with my husband of 6 years. We have two cats, Eric and Butters, who are litter mates and best friends.
