My work aims to support folx who are looking for a safe place to sort out next steps, those looking to develop more insight and awareness of their patterns & relationships and those who struggle with anxiety, depression, disordered eating and trauma. I also offer psychedelic integration support.
Many of my clients tend to be queer, young adults who have experienced childhood trauma and are prepared to begin the healing journey, or perhaps pickup where they may have previously left off. I also work with queer folks who have had negative, abusive, or toxic experiences within church/religion because of their gender or sexuality. This is certainly not an exclusive list but meant to provide insight into where my passion and expertise lie.
Do you find yourself reacting to things in a manner that seems disproportionate to the situation? Untreated trauma can make us feel as though we are losing control. We may fear quiet moments alone and may desperately try to distract ourselves from the pain. Traumatic experiences can cause lead to poor self-worth, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. etc. It is a privilege to help people break free from these things.
When we accept ourselves we can more fully connect with others and enjoy being present in our daily lives. Would you like to treat yourself with loving kindness? To respond thoughtfully to others instead of reacting based on past experiences? I enjoy working with individuals to develop self-compassion and explore issues related to childhood and family of origin. If you would like to learn to nurture and care for yourself I'd love to help!
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Lending my experience to help you reach your goals together, we'll collaborate, reflect, & celebrate you, your goals, and your growth. In a collaborative and individualized atmosphere, we will work together to help you achieve the changes you seek. I am eager to help you reach your goals and offers services to those in need of support and guidance, with my strengths residing in depression, addiction, trauma, and the dually diagnosed populations.
I enjoy working with individuals who identify within the LGBTQ community and those dealing with anxiety and depression. I also enjoy using geek culture in sessions by finding a way to bridge the gap between video games, pop culture, anime, and our daily lives. This helps me meet the client where they are in searching for commonalities. I help clients by providing resources and work to support them to be successful in their lives. I want to meet you where you are.
My clients are smart, curious, empathetic, and courageous. They are also sick and tired of struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, racing thoughts, bodily relations to anxiousness, family struggles, and general life stressors. The people I work with are looking for and ready for a change. I'm anxious, too, and because I've gone through this, I know the work it takes to get out. I get it. There is relief; you have to start. I see individuals and relationships.
Do you struggle with feeling valued, seen or heard? Are you feeling overwhelmed with your place in your family, friend group or romantic partnership? Do you find yourself inundated with intrusive thoughts? The worry creeps in and seems to impact everything you do, as if you're carrying around a heavy balloon. I will help you process your relationship with yourself, create a pathway to radical self-acceptance, and the grace to process transformative healing.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am accepting new clients who can pay out of pocket and are willing to do a free consultation to assess our match. Also, I am diversifying my career and I AM taking clients as a trauma writing mentor/editor and more. Writing your way through healing, in my view, is at least of equal value to psychotherapy. If you are interested in these services, please visit me at Eli Hastings, Storyteller www.elihastings.com). I would be DELIGHTED to work in tandem with other therapists!

Many of my clients see themselves as introverted, creative and/or highly sensitive. I work with people facing a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, shyness, self-criticism, life transitions, difficulty in relationships, and the effects of racism, sexism, homophobia, and trauma. // Note that I'm considered an out-of-network provider by all insurance carriers.
At Perfectly Queer Counseling, you’ll find LGBTQ+ identifying therapists who understand - even if you feel that no one could possibly know what you’re going through. You are in the driver’s seat of your life and we are here to help you navigate the twists and turns you may face along the way. Your queer journey is beautiful and also may be challenging for you, your loved ones, or others in your life. We want to support you on your journey.
You were raised by perfectionistic, critical and well meaning Asian Immigrant parents, who praised your achievements and shamed you for your mistakes. You learn at an early age that getting achievements gives you a sense of security and validation, but it is short lived because the pressure is never ending. You earn top grades, get into a prestigious university and a high earning job, but find that it is extremely difficult to slow down and listen to your body.
My clients explore many facets of their lives with me, including their feelings of anxiety and depression. I also walk alongside people who are navigating their racial identity. Others are in a space of transition in their career paths and personal relationships. Finally, I specialize in working with people grieving a loss in their life, whether through death or the many inevitable endings that occur throughout our lifetime.
I enjoy working with queer people of color, especially queer-identified Asian Pacific-Islander folks.I also have a particular interest in working with those in the helping professions such as essential workers, therapists, and those who identify as community organizers/activists. I identify as an 1st generation, bi-racial, woman of color. As a first generation Filipina, I have a unique experience regarding power, privilege and oppression from a non-Westernized perspective.

I collaborate with clients who are learning to express themselves honestly, while navigating through relational concerns. Clients report of feeling withdrawn or overly focus with their partner(s). When we work together, clients can learn new skills and tools in order to advocate for their personal needs in their relationship(s) and collaborate with their partner(s) on creating the relationship that they want together.
You or your child have a big life transition and know that you could use extra support for a divorce, new school, developmental milestone, traumatic event, or death of a loved one. You want someone who understands how hard it is to be a parent navigating today's world.
