BMIS LLC d/b/a TherapyDen ("TherapyDen," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website https://www.therapyden.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Definitions

Personal Data means information that can be used to identify a living individual, including name, email address, phone number, and similar identifiers.

Usage Data means data collected automatically from the Service, such as page visit duration, browser type, and referring pages.

Therapist means a licensed mental health professional who has registered a profile on TherapyDen.

Client means an individual using TherapyDen to search for a therapist.

Enterprise Partner means an organization that manages multiple therapist profiles on behalf of its affiliated therapists.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account, subscribe, or interact with our Service, we may collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address (city, state, ZIP code, country)
  • Professional credentials and license information (for Therapists)
  • Profile content, including biography, specialties, and photographs (for Therapists)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card details)
  • Messages submitted through the contact form
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

  • Device and Browser Information: IP address, device type, browser type and version, operating system
  • Usage Data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referring sources, click patterns
  • Location Data: approximate location inferred from your IP address
  • Analytics Data: interactions with our Service collected through Google Analytics (GA4)

2.3 Information from Enterprise Partners

When an Enterprise Partner creates or manages therapist profiles, we may receive personal data about those therapists from the Enterprise Partner. The Enterprise Partner is responsible for obtaining appropriate consent or authorization from each therapist before sharing their information with us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, client inquiry notifications, billing notifications)
  • Respond to support requests and communications
  • Improve and personalize the Service
  • Monitor usage patterns and detect technical issues
  • Send newsletters, updates, or promotional communications (with your consent; you may opt out at any time)
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4.1 Service Providers

If BMIS LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Therapist Profile Content

Therapist profiles are publicly visible on the Service. Information you include in your profile (name, credentials, specialties, biography, photograph, contact details) is accessible to anyone visiting the Site.

If you submit written content (such as a blog article) to TherapyDen, you grant BMIS LLC d/b/a TherapyDen a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service. You retain ownership of your original work and may request removal at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing agreements).

Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period unless needed for security or service improvement purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption, firewalls, and secure connections (SSL/TLS). However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. By using the Service, you acknowledge this risk.

Your account is protected by a password. We recommend using a strong, unique password and logging out after each session.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your use of the Service constitutes your consent to the transfer of your data to the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.

10. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

12. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
