Typically used as a therapeutic treatment for children, play therapy is a method of meeting and responding to the mental health needs of young people in a language they understand – namely, play. Play therapy is seen an effective and suitable intervention in dealing with children’s brain development. It is considered to be one of the most beneficial ways to help children who are experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges. A therapist specializing in play therapy will create a safe and comfortable space where the child can play (typically in a non-directive way) with very few limits or rules. The therapist will observe the child at play. The goal is to help children learn to better express themselves and resolve their problems. Think this approach might be right for a child in your life? While I provide therapy to people from all walks of life, the goals I collaborate in developing with clients are mainly focused on: LGBTQ+ and their families, gender identity following the WPATH Standards of Care, grief and loss, relationship issues, sexuality, trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, addictions, HIV/AIDS, and spirituality. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families, including monogamous and polyamorous relationships, and alternative sexualities.

I offer telehealth counseling services to diverse client populations experiencing a host of challenges. One of the primary populations I treat is young adults experiencing difficulty with major life transitions, relationships, and future-planning concerns. Additionally, I have enjoyed my work treating couples, especially those with a history of substance abuse in one or more partners. I'm proud to offer an inclusive space for clients regardless of identity or background.
