My Background and Approach
Research suggests that the client-therapist relationship is the most important indicator for client success, so I prioritize developing a connection with you. My practice values cultural responsiveness and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. A few of my practice's Core Beliefs & Values include: Empowerment (highlighting your strengths and your ability to grow and change); Focused Challenge (purposeful discovery that supports intentional curiosity and change). I hold 7 years of Post-Master's level experience. I am trained in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT) and Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Ind-CBT), to name a few. We will prioritize an approach that works for you. I enjoy utilizing therapy approaches that is effective for BIPOC (black, indigenous, person of color) community members. During sessions—with your collaboration—I may guide you using a combination of practices, whether it be somatic, cognitive, or psychodynamic, to support your self exploration and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
On a personal level I am a Filipina American cisgender woman (she/her) who was raised in a small town in California that featured strawberry and pumpkin patches around my neighborhood. I am a proud LGBTQ+ ally. I am allergic to the gym, but I enjoy a good workout session on my stationary bike while watching crime shows. I am a semi-successful plant mom and my eldest plant child is 6 years old. My favorite non-therapy related books to read are dystopian novels, poetry, philosophy, and memoirs.
