About My Clients
My ideal clients are 8-12 year olds struggling with emotion management, ADHD symptoms, communication skills, noncompliance, verbal aggression and physical aggression. I also work with teens, families and children as young as 6. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and provide gender affirming care while creating a space free of any judgement. My ideal clients may also be in gifted programs, struggling with gender identity or passionate about athletics.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, emotion management, and family conflict. I have personal and professional experience in managing family conflict, and have a strong passion for mending bridges between children and their parents. I help my child and teen clients improve their communication with family, and build independence that supports the growth of their self esteem. I create an atmosphere individualized to the client, and weave interests into each session to improve the perception of therapy in younger kids. I help my clients improve their awareness of their own needs, and I encourage them to advocate for their needs in a way that honors the worlds around them. I competed 4 years at University of Utah (Varsity Swim and Dive), and received PAC12 Academic All American Honors. I am a strong advocate of youth in sports, and work with athletes aspiring to compete at the college level after high school!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Ive been in private practice for over 2 years now, and before private practice I worked for 4 years with Arizona Youth and Family Services (2.5 years as behavior coach, 1.5 years as therapist). While at AYFS, I saw a caseload of 50 children and learned an immeasurable amount during my time there. If you, your child, or your family want to explore the barriers present in your lives I would love to be the therapist for you and your family! You and your children don’t have to navigate life’s conflicts and transitions alone, I’m eager to help. I am a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, and I will always use my position to educate. I am always willing to learn from my clients, and never push clients into territory they aren't equipped to handle. Trust is the most important piece of the therapy process with children and teens! A very close loved one of mine is a recovering addict, and I am incredibly passionate about helping the youth impacted by the disease of addiction.
