Hi, I'm Judy! My goal is to help you build on your strengths and grow so you can live a fulfilling life, one step at a time.

About My Clients

At times, emotions can feel all-consuming and get in the way of what we want or care about most in our lives. I use evidence-based practices to support children, teens, and young adults in coping with difficult experiences—such as anxiety, OCD, depression and behavioral challenges. I also provide parents with strategies to help their children experiencing challenges. My goal is to work with clients on building their strengths in facing difficult emotions and living a rich and meaningful life.

My Background and Approach

Using evidence-based practices, I work with my clients to help them learn and use skills to effectively cope with difficult emotions, decrease distress, and enrich their lives. I aim to help clients feel empowered to reach their goals and resilient in the face of life's challenges. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Boston University, was a post-doctoral fellow at the Boston Child Study Center and completed my predoctoral internship at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition to my private practice, I work at McLean Hospital in the School Consultation Service. I am trained in CBT, Parent Management Training, and have certification in the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism. Additionally, I have training in the implementation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy strategies.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that with courage, everyone is capable of stepping outside their comfort zone to grow and change in their lives. I am a strong believer of treating all individuals with respect and fairness, no matter what identities you hold. In big part, this means holding an open and curious stance and using a culturally responsive and inclusive lens to understand your experience. I am passionate about working with and empowering individuals from marginalized groups and fully support the Black Lives Matter movement and the LGBTQIA+ community. To grow as a person and clinician, I am continuously working on myself, including reflecting on my biases and privileges and what I can do better to support my clients, in particular clients that identify with marginalized identities.
