About My Clients

You’re feeling disconnected from yourself or the people around you. Maybe you’re feeling stuck in life and can’t find the energy to change things up. Or maybe you’re overwhelmed by thoughts or feelings that push you around or keep you from doing what you want to be doing. I'd like to help. Clients often come to me seeking relief from pervasive anxiety and overwhelm, or wanting to process major changes. I work with clients in all forms of relationships, and see couples and polycules too.

My Background and Approach

My counseling philosophy is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which involves learning skills and new perspectives to help you pursue a satisfying life while accepting the presence of difficult thoughts and feelings. I also draw from Relational Cultural Therapy, which emphasizes authentic connection (being genuine with people) and mutual empathy (how we affect each one another). I integrate tools from numerous other therapeutic approaches, and I place a high value on multicultural perspectives. As we begin together, we will talk about what is bringing you to therapy, and identifying where you are looking for change, clarity, and growth. Our work will include both acceptance and change strategies, conversations and skills. Our sessions may include experiential practices that help you more fully connect with your body, your feelings, and the present. We will have ongoing check-ins about how therapy is going, and I welcome feedback about your experience!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the importance of connection, authenticity, and empathy. Because of that, I think it is important that I show up as the real me so that you can show up as the real you. We exist in relationship to one another, which makes it crucial to approach one another with curiosity and compassion. This is an ongoing effort, and I am constantly pushing myself to further examine the stigmas, biases, and privileges that I carry and to find ways to challenge these in the communities I am a part of. As part of my work at Project Yes PLLC, I practice from an anti-racist, LGBTQIA2+ affirming, and sex positive approach. I also bring forward HAES principles and support clients in de-conditioning harmful internalized beliefs that contribute to diet culture. My lived experience as a poly therapist informs me in the work that I do, and yet I do not make any assumptions that what I have encountered in my life is the same as your path.
