About My Clients
I welcome folks of all genders, sexual orientations and cultural backgrounds and am kink and poly-friendly. I love working with healers, those in the helping professions and highly sensitive people (HSP’s) as well as people in all fields/areas of life interested in coming into kinder, more compassionate relationships with themselves and with their bodies. Somatic, mindfulness-based therapy helps you experience a more grounded and easeful you.
My Background and Approach
My practice is located in the east bay area in Berkeley, California (currently meeting remotely by video or phone). I am a somatic psychotherapist who loves helping individuals and couples reach new levels of self-empowerment, creativity, flow and connection in their lives and relationships. I am here to support you in finding your clear boundaries and in learning what true self-care and life balance mean for you. My client-centered, collaborative approach is informed by somatic (body-oriented), relational, attachment, psychodynamic and social-justice oriented theories, Buddhist psychology, my personal insight meditation (Vipassana) practice, conscious dance and a deep connection with nature. I have specialized training in Hakomi, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the treatment of trauma and PACT couples therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself a body positive and sex positive therapist who is deeply interested in approaching mental health through a holistic, social justice lens. I believe in approaching health and well-being from a full person perspective and I am interested in including your strengths and gifts in our work together as well as considering and exploring the ways that past traumas, present systems of oppression and family patterns are impinging on your aliveness. I strongly believe in tailoring the therapy to meet your individual needs and in finding a pace that helps you come forward naturally. Therapy can be hard work and it can be energizing and inspiring and fun as well!
