Perhaps you’ve spent a lot of your life wondering, “Why does everything seem easier for everyone else?” If you’re constantly comparing yourself, feeling like you’re playing catch-up, or wondering why you can’t just “get it together” like everyone else seems to, you’re not alone. I work with adults who have potential, but are completely exhausted from trying to force themselves into systems that were never designed for how their brains actually work.
My Background and Approach
Before entering the counseling field, I worked for ten years as an advanced certified American Sign Language interpreter in Austin. That experience shaped the way I show up as a therapist, with deep attention to what is communicated beyond words and a genuine commitment to making space for each person to feel heard. After getting a Masters of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I became Gottman level one trained, as well as trained in EMDR. My approach to therapy is to pull from theories such as Family systems, Attachment, and EMDR. All while using a relational approach, meaning I focus on the connection between you and me. Therapy with me is down-to-earth, collaborative, and real. We can laugh about the chaos, be honest about the hard stuff, and figure out practical ways forward, without shame, perfectionism, or pretending you have it all figured out.
