Coaching

Coaching is the act of guiding a person to achieve a specific goal, either professional or personal. Although therapists and coaches have similar approaches, coaches are typically more direct and have more frequent contact with clients than therapists, and focus on the specific goal at hand, rather than seeking the root of an issue. If you have a specific goal you'd like a professional perspective on, coaching might be a good step. Contact one of TherapyDen’s coaching experts today!

My ability and experiences to evoke and guide in order to bring forth purpose and passion to the forefront.

— Collene Taylor, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in Rockford, IL

My love for therapy and history and processing the past is tremendous. I have found that freedom from the past does not mean one is ready and equipped for change and growth. Coaching provides practical tools for growth and change. For reaching and living bigger and bolder. I love love love coaching :)

Life coaches are full of it. Why should you trust someone to coach you in life, when they couldn't even be bothered to be coached to a credential that mattered? And if you are gonna see a life coach, why not see a therapist that is also a life coach? People think they want a life coach, what they want is a therapist with a personality and I mean have you seen my profile? Have you seen the stuff I've said? No "How does that make you feel" here. Real solutions to Real problems in a fun format.

— Derrick Hoard, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in , WA

Sometimes, it's just good to process your emotions, hopes, dreams, fears, and struggles with someone who isn't your parent, sibling, partner, or boss. Coaching helps you sort through your thoughts and emotions about the direction you see your life going. Do you make a left turn, or a right turn. Together, we'll map out a plan to point your toes in the direction you want to be going in your life. Think of coaching as a gentle nudge to empower you toward growth and progress in your life.

— Cyndi Peters, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Libertyville, IL

Unlike therapy, which delves into past experiences, coaching is future-oriented and action-driven. It's all about clarifying your goals, overcoming obstacles, and crafting practical strategies for success. Ready to take charge of your life and create the future you desire? Coaching can help you get there.

— Antoinette Eldemire, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Personal growth is a lifelong process that can help us live more fulfilling lives. Growth is relevant in all stages of our lives: If therapy is for folks looking to grow by healing the wounds from the past, then coaching is for people who hope to grow optimally in the present and the future, in both personal and professional realms. I am here to help you gain the skills and mindsets that you need to grow into your potential, and ultimately, become your own master of personal growth.

— I-Ching Grace Hung, Psychologist in San Francisco, CA

I am certified as a Creative Grief Support Practitioner, or as I like to call myself-a Grief Coach. Grief Coaching also allows me to work with you regardless of what state you live in. As your coach, I can work with you anywhere. Grief coaching looks like helping you find your strengths so you can navigate the mess of grief. Grief coaching looks like having someone walk beside you through your process. Remember, I have been in similar shoes, you don't have to do this alone.

— Beth Erlander, Licensed Professional Counselor in Boulder, CO

I typically use coaching techniques to assist clients undergoing child custody evaluations or social studies in family court or family law cases to make the most thorough and effective presentations. I am familiar with what is required in these cases, and by using coaching and teaching techniques I can often ensure that my client is the best prepared parent at the courthouse. Evaluators themselves are also pleased when my clients are well prepared because it makes the evaluator's job easier. Due to modern technology, I can typically provide these services nationwide.

— Stephen Finstein, Therapist in Dallas, TX

With experience as a therapeutic coach, I believe coaching can be a powerful catalyst for positive change for people looking to address challenges and enrich their lives. A foundation to coaching is utilizing a Strength-Based approach, emphasizing an individual's existing skills, talents, and resources. As such, coaching can help make therapy feel more tangible.

— Nick Worstell, Licensed Professional Counselor in Fort Collins, CO

Coaching may augment traditional psychotherapy, but the work of coaching is meant to be done when major emotional and psychological wounds are already healing or healed. Thus, while emotional issues may arise during the course of a coaching session, the primary focus of the coaching is to help you identify your goals, achieve them, and develop constructive habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on delving into the root cause of your emotional issues with coaching.
