Did you grow up in a controlling, high-demand religious environment? The adverse experiences in this type of setting can lead to feeling like you don't know who you are or what you believe. You may feel torn apart, like there are multiple versions of you in different settings. This can affect the way you treat romantic partners, coworkers, and authority figures. You may also feel conflicted about your identity, your sexuality, and even your body.

My mission is to help clients transform their pain into an opportunity for self-discovery, healing and empowerment, to ultimately reclaim their voice, purpose, and self-worth. I compassionately welcome individuals who feel silenced, disconnected, overwhelmed, lost, or that they "don't belong" as well as people who have experienced emotional abuse, physical abuse or struggle with negative body image and a harsh inner critic.
ALL bodies are good bodies. But we don’t get to this place of body acceptance overnight. Right now you may be tired of feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. You compare your body to others, and your sense of confidence feels hopelessly tied up in your body dissatisfaction. This struggle against your body’s shape, size, or appearance is controlling your life, taking up mental energy, and is freakin’ lonely. And you’re beginning to fear your body anxiety is actually getting worse, not better.
Are you wondering why your relationships are struggling? Are you in an interracial relationship and finding bridging cultural gaps challenging? Is trauma impacting your connections with yourself and others? We are wired to connect - we thrive on our connections with our spouses, children, friends and coworkers. The quality of these relationships makes a huge impact on our overall well being. Let me help you find the best version of yourself in relationships.
My clients come from all walks of life. Most often I work with trans folks, other people in the LGBTQ community, and those who are part of the kink, poly, non-monogamous, or other sex positive communities. It is important to me to provide a space where someone doesn't need to explain their life or face judgement to improve their access to needed care.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I work with adults of any gender or gender identity and/or sexual orientation. My areas of specialty are: Relationships / Marriage / Divorce / Dating; Premarital Counseling, Adult ADHD, High-functioning Autism (Asperger's), Grief & Loss, Trauma (PTSD), Anxiety (ruminations), Social Anxiety, Depression, Work Stress/Burnout (especially in the tech industry), Mid-life Realignment (it's only a crisis if you have ignored this) and Men's/ Male-identified Issues.
You deserve to be a priority in your own life. Most of my clients have a history of surviving trauma, neglect, and relational harm; this can lead to becoming stuck in survival mode which often times conflicts with living mode. I work primarily with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA2S folks who are ready to approach their struggles in a new way. We can work together to restore your sense of self and your ability to direct your life on your terms to achieve your goals!
I work with teens, adults, and couples and/or multi-partnered romantic partnerships. I specialize in family and relational issues, anxiety, depression, issues of self-harm, issues of self-esteem and bullying, and personal growth and development. I actively welcome and consider the unique identity make up of my clients, and through an anti-oppression framework to integrate their unique identities and experiences into our work together.
One of the most important parts of the therapy process is the connection that is made between the client and the clinician. My accepting, client-centered approach makes it easy for you to discuss your immediate situation and deeper issues. I am passionate about working within the LGBTQIA community to assist clients in building the secure and satisfying life that they desire. You're the expert on you, let me provide the safe space for you to explore change and to find the future that you desire.
I love to work with clients who really want to be done with their suffering, but don't know how to do that. Maybe you've experienced abuse or neglect, assault, the sudden death of a loved one. I trust that you have the capacity to heal, and we can work together to help make that a reality.

I help clients who are dealing with many different issues, including anxiety, family-of-origin issues, couples/relationship issues, & depression. I specialize in alternative lifestyles. My passion is helping clients from any or all of the following groups: geeky, LGBTQIA+, BDSM/kinky, polyamorous/non-monogamous, alternative spiritualities and/or atheists. If you’re searching for an effective and caring therapist who can understand your unique situation, you’ve come to the right person.
I work primarily with adults over 30 years of age. A few of my specialties include working with: depression, trauma, grief, codependency, major life-transitions, betrayal, anxiety, as well as process addictions (behavioral addictions). In addition, I have a passion for those who identify as Highly Sensitive and Anxious Attachment styles.
My clients explore many facets of their lives with me, including their feelings of anxiety and depression. I also walk alongside people who are navigating their racial identity. Others are in a space of transition in their career paths and personal relationships. Finally, I specialize in working with people grieving a loss in their life, whether through death or the many inevitable endings that occur throughout our lifetime.
You were raised by perfectionistic, critical and well meaning Asian Immigrant parents, who praised your achievements and shamed you for your mistakes. You learn at an early age that getting achievements gives you a sense of security and validation, but it is short lived because the pressure is never ending. You earn top grades, get into a prestigious university and a high earning job, but find that it is extremely difficult to slow down and listen to your body.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am accepting new clients who can pay out of pocket and are willing to do a free consultation to assess our match. Also, I am diversifying my career and I AM taking clients as a trauma writing mentor/editor and more. Writing your way through healing, in my view, is at least of equal value to psychotherapy. If you are interested in these services, please visit me at Eli Hastings, Storyteller www.elihastings.com). I would be DELIGHTED to work in tandem with other therapists!

You are intelligent and sensitive. People seek your advice and support, and you give it. But, when it comes to yourself, your clarity, confidence, and compassion somehow evade you. Instead, you experience confusion, anxiety, difficulty making choices/decisions. You may wonder if there is someone who can support you. Would they even be able to truly see and deeply understand you, hear you even at times when you can't find the words to express what's in your heart? Yes, and this your turn.
My clients are ready for change. They value personal growth, self-improvement, and not afraid to work for what they want. My clients want to live up to their full potential and be the best version of themselves. Some of my clients know something needs to change but don't know exactly what and really don't know how to change. I can help. I partner with you and help you identify what you want to change, create a plan of action, and then give you the tools to get there.
I love serving all types of folks, I definitely have a soft spot for my people in the queer/LGBTQIAA+/kink/sex work/poly community, as well as folks struggling with self harm and substance use. The people I serve are intersectional. They are providers, clients, survivors, instigators, hold privilege, resist oppression, live on both the margins and in the mainstream. We explore together to set goals and utilize inherent strengths to empower growth and navigate change.
